Journal page - with Emma

Hi again everyone.
Today on the ScrappingClearly blog I tried something new. I played in my art journal. So many other scrappers inspire me so much,
and I don’t normally do this form of media, I have tried it a couple of times but always think it looks silly.
But I decided I need to embrace and create! And I love trying things.
I kept it simple, only using a couple of colours.

I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with colour.
I started with Tim Holtz mini collage crazed medium on the base as a prep on my page before I added colour. And layered a stencil.

I then started stamping. Feeling free to let the page kinda create itself. I then used a black pen and highlighted parts of the stencil.

I then thought I needed a title?
So using a OnTrend2 journal card I cut out the quote to make my title.

I loved how it had the Gold in it. And then I found a quote that reflected the creative vibe I was feeling.

A few liquitex artist inks flicked over the page and this page was finished.
I’m pretty happy with it and look forward to playing like this more in the future.

Have you tried this form of media yet?

It’s very freeing, I highly recommend it.

Catch you all next time.

Live more - for SUYS

Hi there,
I’m sharing my page for Show us your Stuff! And I did make a quick video for it too.
This months challenge was to use metals on your page.

I used a few metal pieces and also used handmade products from Kit the Habit.

I love how this page turned out.

And I hope you check out my video. My beautiful Son Jude has been creating music for my layouts and this piece of music is his latest creation 💕

Till next time,

Start somewhere - with Emma

Hi everyone!
Ok so I’ve been not feeling it when it comes to scrapping this week, my mojo has gone walk about. Finding inspiration can be hard. So I thought I would try and play with one of the challenges ScrappingClearly has going this week in its celebrations.
I took it from the artwork image board.....

......and then I felt inspired by my dear friend, Tammy, who’s Scrapbooking is just phenomenal!!

With these ideas in mind, my layout slowly came together.

I used fantastic SC products of course.
I started my base with Gesso and then layered Distress Oxide in cracked Pistachio to base my colour around.

Then I used texture paste with a stencil and once dried I then applied 2 more oxide inks, iced Spruce and then abandoned coral  In the image I loved the mixed media feel.

I tore strips of paper from the Ontrend2 collection and added them to my background layers. I also used a few of the Washi strips from the Pink Paislee Cedar lane range.

Then stamping my theme (which became feathers, also inspired by the feathers in the image)  I finished my background.

I then began layering my real and veneer feathers.
I also used some cool Heidi Swapp gold puffy stickers amongst the feathers.

Added a few Studio Calico sequins, and a few quotes and boom! layout done!

I hope you could be inspired by some of the challenges that have been shared all week long, or maybe a friend or a layout has helped the creativity flow.
Whatever your inspiration, Have fun scrapping and I’ll catch you all again real soon.
Em! Xx

Right now - by Emma for Scrappingclearly

Can these weeks go any faster????
How has yours been so far? I’m here to hopefully share a little mid week inspiration and creation.
This month at Scrappingclearly we have some awesome challenges to get your scrap supplies excited.
So to start of the month I chose to try out the sketch......

Yep I couldn’t play with the sketching in its ‘normal’ way so I flipped it and swapped sides 😜

I did go with the concept of the circles and the paint splatters. I used a few different mediums on the base including 2 different Ranger Distress oxides (wild honey & iced spruce)
I also used one of the Ranger distress collage mediums in vintage to see what it was like. Love it!!!

Then I stamped using a new Darkroom door stamp I recently purchased.
This stamp is awesome, it really transfers great on any paper and medium.

To add under my photo I used a few different tags this time instead of papers. I used an assortment from the Heidi Swapp decorative tags and I used one Heidi Swapp fabric tag that I coloured with the oxides.

Finishing it off with a few bits and pieces from my stash, and this layout was complete.
I hope it gives a little inspiration for your mid week hump.
I look forward to seeing your creations using this sketch.
Have a scrapping good time.
Love Em. Xx

Always face the sun - by Emma

Hi, Emma with you today.
And today I’m sharing a layout that again was inspired by this months moodboard.
And with this page the image at the top right of the mood board is where it all started.
I was excited to be a little girly and ‘chic’ 😂

I really had fun with the background on this one using distress oxides and stamps.

Layering my colors and strips of papers and stickers from various ranges, that all complimented each other.

I made my cabachons from an older paper and a few resin rounds that I still had lying around, it’s a nice feeling when you actually use something that you have been holding onto for so long.

I love the finished result, it feels almost calm in my hectic life. 😜
I hope you get a chance to play along and I look forward to seeing what inspired you from the moodboard.
Till our next scrappy venture, Em. Xxx
