Dream - With Em. So

Welcome to February!!
Unreal how fast life travels hey?
So it’s the first of the month which means new challenges are set.....awesome!!
So today I’m sharing my DT interpretation for Scrap the Boys.

Here is my layout.....

And here is our challenge.....

I really didn’t have and out doorsy photos for this challenge, so I decided to get a little creative with a close up photo of my hubbys eye. And transferred an image over his inner eye, and chose a senic one so it feels as if inspired to venture somewhere.
It was so fun to play around with this.

I really love how this page came together.
I used a few of the 7dots paper range, along with some Tim Holtz ephemera.
It went so well together.

I felt like I was traveling while I created this page. It took me somewhere, sonewhere inspired. .

I really can’t wait to see what you guys choose to create with this months challenge.

It’s a fun one. Open to any interpretation.
I’ll catch you all soon, Em. Xx

Take a Deep Breath - with Em

Happy Weekend ScrappingClearly Peeps.
Hope you have been keeping cool if your in Aussie land, and if you are in a land with snow and cool air I hope your marshmallows are toastie.
Today I'm playing with an image that I got off pinterest.
I have 2 boys that don't like having photos taken as often any more, (I sneak some though) which makes me source images from other places, pinterest being one of them.
I find it also allows a different type of creativity on my pages.
This cute little fox looks so calm and at peace it made me think of spring and a time of wonder.
I don't get to use flowers much so a pic like this allows me to be a little floral.

I started with choosing a couple of 6x6 pages from the Heidi Swapp September Skies pad.
And I also fussy cut out a section of flowers from one of the sheets, that I tucked up under the top left corner.

My base I started with good 'ol Gesso and Texture paste, and then started playing with a couple of
Colour Blast Shimmer pots in Envy and punch.
Then a layer of Distress Oxide in fossilized amber

Then instead of using black to stamp this time I used the Distress oxides to stamp with.
I used a couple of Kaiser stamps and I used only the flowers from the Prima Cling stamp.

I finished off my layout with my staple of Liquitex artist ink in Titanium white.

I have made a video for this page also. I hope you enjoy it, cos I had fun creating it.
And my eldest Son Jude has been creating music for my layouts which I love as he gets a buzz out of this form of music creativity.

So even though I may not always have a photo of my boys they are always supporting me in some form of my art.

I'll catch you all again real soon.

Have a great weekend.

Cool Kid - 12x12 layout

Hi everone,
Today on the ScrappingClearly blog I'm sharing my take on this months sketch and showing some fun products and colours.

To start my page I used modelling paste, and then had a play with a Colour Blast Shimmer pot in Envy, these are sooooo fun. I also painted the wood veneer in this also.
I added my favourite medium a distress oxide in fossilized Amber over the top of the shimmer and paste. Then using a very cool new stamp added a few interesting layers with this and a couple of other stamps in my stash.

I painted my Heidi Swapp veneer and chipboard with the same mediums I used on my base.

Then choosing some very awesome sheets from the Heidi Swapp September skies 6x6 range created layers to follow the sketch of this month.

I have some of the Heidi Swapp Banners and was really unsure how to use them as I don't often use banners and so decided to cut them up and use like tags under my paper layers.  I also used a couple of the Heidi Swapp Star embellishments to add under my veneer to add more interest.

Finishing it all off like I usually do with my Liquitex ink in black flicked across my layout.

I hope you join us with our sketch this month, you could grab yourself a very cool $30 prize.

Catch you all soon.
