Amaze Yourself - layout and VIDEO for ScrappingClearly

Hi everyone,
Emma here with you all today, and I'm sharing a layout inspired by this months moodboard.
Feeling all the greens.....

And lets refresh ourselves with the moodboard.....

Such a beautiful selection of colours hey?

I prepped my cardstock with a coat of clear Gesso, then once dried I applied some Plaster paste in the area that the photo and layers were going to be placed.
Before I dried the paste I added a few mini art stones into it, then I dried to set.

Then came the colour. I started with Distress oxide in Twisted Citrus, then I added a Dylusions in fresh lime. Then finally as a contrast I added a green ink. Dripping down the page with each colour I used by adding water to it. You can see this come to life in my video that I've attached to this blog.

For the few layers under my image which I found on YouTube, I tore up a couple of the tear aparts in Heidi swapps book -  Lets Flamingle.
I tore 2 of them in half and then arranged in in a fashion under my image, I also found a couple of frames from Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule ephamera pack, and added them in to the mix.

Once they were stuck down, I started to add my embellishments. The assorted chipboard has been painted with Distress oxides in the Twisted Citrus and Crushed olive I used for the title chippy, and the flowers were painted in the Fresh Lime acrylic paint.

In amongst the background I used a few of the Tim Holtz Life quotes rub ons, with key words being a feature.

Then I added a few of the Heidi Swapp Good Vibes Clear stickers in under my embellishments, and this layout was pretty much complete.
But not without Liquidex carbon black ink splats to tie it all in.

I hope you enjoy my video and I hope It has inspired you to join in with this months moodboard.

I'll catch you all again real soon, and until we meet again,
love to you all, Em xx

No time to talk - layout created for 2crafty

Hi 2Crafty friends!
Emma here with you all today with a quirky but fun page.

And here are the chippy pieces I chose....

I have been in a bit of a Crafty slump just lately and was struggling to even add paint to a page. But as I was sitting playing at my desk with elements and this image, my youngest started playing his Spotify playlist in the background and on came 'Staying alive' by the Bee Gees....and just like that the title came to me and then I was totally inspired to start this page.

And so I just started playing!

I just love the quirk of this photo, well dressed animals are just so cool!

The chipboard I always want to make the main focus so I painted them with some Art Alchemy acrylic paints. And I chose colours from the photo to really enhance everything.

The geo arrows are just so cool and I really wanted these to be the colour contrast so I chose the red acrylic for these to almost match the braces of the well dressed racoon.

The background paper was just awesome also as I gave me some direction on where I wanted my 'water colours' to bleed from.

I chose a Grey acrylic shade for the Polaroid frames and layered them up under my photo.

And for the 'Crazy Stitched Panel' (which I cut some smaller pieces off the main grid) I first coated in white Gesso and then went over them in Metallique acrylic.

Once all my pieces of chippy and other elements were down I applied some Prima wax to some of the chippy and paper elements, to really tie every piece together.

So i'm pretty happy to say after creating this page I'm feeling less slumpy and more inspired.
Maybe the secret is to play more music more often while I create????

I hope you enjoy this share and it inspires you some how?

I look forward to seeing all again very soon.
Till then, Em. xx

Believe - layout for scrappingClearly

Happy Saturday everyone, hope its an awesome day where you are.
Today I have a project that showcases the awesome Jane Davenport 'at a glance' stamp.

It's very "eye catching" hehehehehe!

I have had this image from Pinterest for ages and have been hanging onto it for just the right moment.
When I received this awesome set of stamps I just knew this image would work perfectly with it.
So I used it as my main focal stamp down and under where I was going to place my image.

Up until recently purple was a no go colour for me. But after a work friend challenged me to use it, I'm not so phobic about it.

I really wanted to match the colours to the image so after applying Clear Gesso I applied my first colour, I chose Distress Oxide in Antique linen first. But only a little because I really wanted to mimic the image.

Then to add my colour I used a Vicki Boutin watercolour set. I had lots of fun mixing and adding paint colours to achieve the bleeding watercolour effect.

How incredibly amazing are those eyes in the stamp!

Behind my image I layered some torn pieces from a Heidi Swapp paper pad I had. And I also scrunched and placed some torn pieces of the Tim holtz tissue wrap.

For my main embellishments I used 3 of the Finnabair mechanical metal flowers.
I just cant get enough of these metals.

With a couple of torn pieces of fabric tucked up in my layers, I left it. Didn't add anymore embellies and didn't even flick ink!!!

But I'm super happy with the way this page has come up. I love the vibe, sadness and hope this image and the eyes depict.

I hope you too can be inspired by some of the very cool products Kylie has in the shop just like I have been.

I'll be back soon to share a page devoted to this months amazing moodboard.
Till then, Em xx

What The - created for Scrapping Clearly with VIDEO

Hi SC Family,
Emma here today sharing a layout that was once again
inspired by the moodboard for this month.

And here is a reminder of the moodboard....

So this image I found on Pinterest awhile ago and just loved the quirk of the picture.
Plus it reminded me of something my boys would do.

Because of it being blank and white it lends itself to be used with any colour/s.
So yellows it was. (I did sneak in some darker slightly orange shades in there too....shhhh)

I have made a video for this layout that you can watch it all come together.
I started by using a sheet of Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule collection, good times, which I clear gesso over.

I then began to stamp in the area that I had chosen to create my design.

I used a mix of stamps, but main focus on the Dina Wakley Scribbles set.
Once my stamping was complete I then added colour. Firstly with Dylusions spray in custard and then dylusions acrylic in lemon zest.
You can see how I applied these in my video.

I then cut a couple of 3x4s from the Boys rule fun games sheet, and placed behind my image with a few precut 'tags' I made from some older papers.

My title and a few of the embellishments come from the Boys rule ephermera pack.
Along with some chippy that I inked with a Distress oxide reinker in squeezed lemonade.
Which I then painted over with a Prima opal Magic.

Within the embellishments I also added a couple of metals from the Steampunk gears.
And like most of my pages I finish off with some Liquitex ink in Carbon black. I never tire of this final piece.

I hope you enjoy my video and I will catch you all next month.
Till then, Em. xx
