Wander Often - Created for ScrappingClearly

 Wander Often

- Created for ScrappingClearly

Welcome to Thursday SC friends.
Emma here with you today, sharing a page and a video inspired by this months moodboard.

Here is my design.....

And here is the moodboard it was inspired by.....

I created a video for this layout as well, something that I haven't
done for a little while, and I hope you enjoy it.

This page has some awesome products on it. For my background work I started by giving my paper a coat of Clear Gesso to act as a barrier.
I really loved the idea of playing with gold from this moodboard so I mixed some Art Alchemy in Ancient Coin with a modelling paste.

Once that was spread through a stencil I then added some colour onto the base using 2 Distress Oxides first in Antique Linen and then a darker shade over the top in Frayed Burlap.

I wanted more gold, so I then dabbed some emboss ink through a star stencil to grab that star theme from the moodboard, and applied gold emboss powder, this gave a little more sparkle.

Once this was dry I started using some very cool stamps first one from the Old town range of  the Finnabair Cling stamps, and then layered over that with a Lavinia Stamp in the Orbs, I just love this one. I also used a script stamp over them.

Once the image was layered with some tags, I chose a few pieces from one of Heidi Swapps Ephemera packs that suited my design.

The stars are quite a bold idea on the moodboard so I decided to capture this theme more by using the metal stars from Finnabair Mechanicals.

In the centre of each of the stars I added Art pebbles in vintage.

Finally I added some quotes from Tim Holtz small talk and a splash of Liquitex ink in titanium white.

The over all feel of this page is quite peaceful and I feel I captured the moodboard.

I hope you get a chance to play along with this moodboard this month, I cant wait to see what you see and how you play.

I will see you all again very soon, till then, Em xx

Life's a Wild Ride - created for ScrappingClearly.

Hi SC friends.

Emma here with you today to share a very easy quick layout.

Once I had chosen my base sheet, I applied a coat of clear gesso so the inks I used later would run nicely. And then through a hexagon stencil rubbed a Distress Oxide in Victoria Velvet just under where I was going to focus my design.

Then with a couple of Lindy's Moon shadow mists, I chose Buccaneer Bay Blue and Bucket O Blood Red I flicked them over the page.

I added a little script stamp and as a real feature used Jane Davenport clear stamps Build a Bouquet, love these flowers so much. And they have such a cool impact that was all the stamping I needed.

This page really showcases one of Heidi Swapps fun ephamera pack.

Building with a couple of the tags and acetate pieces this page just came together easy.

Finally I added a few sentiments from Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers.

It was fun to create something quick and easy.

I hope you get some creative time over the holidays and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Till then, Em xx

Experience - created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Welcome to the 2Crafty blog friends.
Emma here today with you all.

I'm sharing a page that has a slight spacey/melancholy yet new adventure vibe.

And these are the awesome chippy pieces I have used...…

6" Circle Revolution Frames
Mini Travel Word Set 2
Retro Panel
Geometric Arrows

The retro panel is inked in an archival black ink and left as is.

The geo arrows and circle frame I painted over with white gesso first so the colour would be more vibrant once painted.

I decided to keep the frame in the white but the arrows I painted with a watercolour ink. It covered the chipboard beautifully and the colour really popped also.

For the word I chose the 'experience' word out of the set which I also primed with white gesso and then painted with a complimentary blue shimmer ink.
The words in this set are very versatile as they are flexable and so I could curve the word around onto the circle frame.

I thought this a cool use of a title instead of always just using them straight.

I hope this has inspired you to get creative, maybe you have some time off over this holiday season?

Have a great rest of the year and I will catch you all very soon in the year 2019!!!

Em xx

Dream - layout for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi 2Crafty friends.
Emma here with you all sharing my first creation for this month.
This month a few of us 2Crafty girls were invited to participate in with the CSI challenges.
I Chose the first challenge #267.

My first challenge was I don't celebrate Christmas and so I wondered what I would pull from this case?
I drew inspo from the colours, these are not traditional colours and I loved the playfulness of them.
Then I saw little animals and critters, AHA! another piece of the puzzle solved.

So here is what this became.....

My image I found on Pinterest, and it was just the cutest little guy, I couldn't not use him.
I was also inspired by the circles in the case, e.g the baubles, so this then became the bubbles and circular shapes.

These are the chippy pieces I chose for my layout...…

And now I'll tell you how I used them.

For the Bubble clumps I simply embossed them with a Lindy's emboss powder. The perfect blue/aqua for this colour scheme.

For the Folk Hearts I again embossed but with a Novo glitter emboss. Love the sparkle so much on these.

The tricky but fun part on the layout were the swirls. Now I just love that 2Crafty has a tree called Emma's Tree, but I decided that instead of keeping it whole I would carefully cut the swirls off the tree.
And I'm so happy I did, because I love the effect it has layered under flowers and in the paper layers.
These I have embossed and or Painted to match the Title word.

This gorgeous Green is a Dylusions acrylic paint, which paints onto the chipboard beautifully, and it only needed 2 coats on the Dream title and the finish was smooth and bright.

I love the versatility of the chipboard but I also love a challenge site.
I urge you all to have a bit of fun by joining in over at CSI this month.

I'll see you all at the end of the month with more creativity and be sure to check out the other girls amazing projects this month. There is so much to be inspired by.

Have an amazing few weeks and i'll see you all soon.
Em xx
