Life is the Journey canvas & Video tutorial for 2Crafty Chipboard

  Hello :)

Emma joining you today for the last day of 2020!!!
So to go out with a bang I created a Steampunk Canvas to share and hopefully inspire with you all.
At the end of this post is a video for you to enjoy in your free time.

And here are the pieces used:

Clock face discs
Fancy clock Hand set 2
Fancy Set 2 borders
Steampunk Strips

The chipboard doesn't need much to make it look great so I kept the finish on all the chipboard pieces simple. Starting by painting them in Black Gesso.

Then started to apply layers of wax to create colour over the black.

Most of the chipboard includes 2 to 3 Colours on them to create the gradient in colour.

Pops of colour from the flowers and paper elements also help the chipboard stand out from the canvas.

Sometimes keeping things simple makes for a great impact.

I hope you enjoy the video process of this canvas coming together.

Thank you for visiting today and hope you have a great start to 2021.

See you all soon.
Emma.

Adventure awaits You Tag - Created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello, and welcome to the last day of August!

Emma with you all today, and I am sharing a Tag I created with a Medieval vibe.

I used plenty of awesome chipboard.
Here is what i used:

Steampunk Strips
Decorative Dangling Bits
Filigree Arrows
Hinges

I decided to use 3 finishes on my chipboard with this project.
I started off by painting all the pieces in Gold paint.

Then on the steampunk strips I added a very light covering of gold emboss powder.

The hinges I wanted something a little more of a stand out, so I added gold emboss powder, then a silver emboss powder.

I decided I like this effect so I applied the same finishes on the arrows.

Finally I rubbed a light brushing of copper wax to all of the chipboard pieces, but not too heavily as I didn't want to take away from the shine of the emboss.

I am super happy with the final result of the beautiful chipboard but also the overall look of my tag.
I hope it has been a little bit of inspiration for you.

I will see you all again very soon.
Em xx

Take me with You created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello, Emma here, thank you for joining me today for an end of month share.
Today's  share is a layout that for me feels pretty, and that i really enjoyed creating.

Here are the awesome chipboard pieces i used:

Fancy Set 2 Borders
Clock Face Discs
Fancy Clock Hand Set 2
Amelia Frames
Foliage set 7

If you follow me you know that i like to keep my finishes of the chipboard fairly simple. And so, this page is no different.

With this layout i decided to paint all my chipboard with Black Gesso first.

Then i chose a selection of Prima waxes for colour and to compliment the papers.

I think my favorite piece of chipboard has to be the Clock faces. I used 2 on this layout, but cut the bigger one to make it look like 3.

The hits of metallic wax really sets the chipboard apart from the other elements on the page.

I have created a video for this layout that you can all enjoy here

Thank you for joining me and i look forward to sharing with you all again soon.

My Queen - Designed By Emma Zappone for 13@arts

Hello Everyone,

Today i share my final Guest Design project and i used plenty of awesome products by 13@rts.
It has been an honor to design for this incredible company and be a part of a fantastic group of artists. Here is my final project.

I started by using 'Secret Letters' from the Rosalie collection as my base sheet. I then chose the stunning Summer Rhapsody stencil and used modeling paste mixed with black acrylic to become the base of my composition.

I tore pieces from the same 'Rosalie' collection and used these as layers in and around my image. I also used a couple of sheets from the A6 card set in among the layers.
Fussy Cutting some of the big Roses out of one of the sheets of paper made a nice contrast from the torn elements and then I chose specific pieces of Ephemera from the 'Unforgettable' collection. These 2 collections work beautifully together.

Once the composition was glued down and i was happy with the arrangement i chose to use A Color Glow in 'Fire Opal', this product is truly amazing, watering it down and applying to my background in a watercolor fashion. I also decided to use it dry and rubbed over my resin elements, which gave them a very pretty shimmer.

Thank you for your support over the last 3 months, i truly want to thank Aida for this amazing opportunity to play and share her awesome products and business. I look forward to continuing to draw inspiration from this extremely talented design team, as i'm sure you will too.

Thank you and happy crafting.
Em xx

Keep Breathing - designed for 2Crafty Chipboard plus VIDEO

Hi everyone,

Emma here with you today and I'm excited to share with you my latest creation for 2Crafty.
And i'm also very happy to say i have put a little video together for this one also.

Here it is....

Here are the wonderful chip board pieces i used....

Clock Face Discs
Hinges Pack
Doily Disc Set 1

If you follow me you will know that i adore chipboard and use it pretty much on every scrapbook page i create. And you will also know that i like to keep me chipboard finishes quite simple yet complimentary to the layout as well as the actual chipboard piece.

I decided to emboss both hinges and 1 doily with no primer or paint. Keeping them more raw like.

Then with the Clock Face and another doily i primed with white gesso and again colour embossed them. On the final Doily i painted it with a metallique acrylic. These were my finishes. Simple but effective.

I had lots of fun creating this page especially while using this fun image i found on Pinterest. It played the major part of my inspiration.

I hope you get to kick back and have a little time to watch the video of it all coming together, and see the chipboard pieces come together.

Thanks for joining me today and i will see you again soon.

Adventure with Emma - Created for 13@rts

Hello again from Australia!

This share i must admit was lots of fun. I decided to create a wood canvas.
I chose to mix up a few of the collections, which works very well with all the 13@rts products, so really this wasn't too much of a problem at all.

Playing with plenty of texture was really my main focus. I managed this by layering Splash Inks & Chalk Mists first onto a pre-gessoed background.  Blending them as i went to create a 'beachy/summer' feel.

Once dry I added a coat of Gel Medium and then placed the transparent foil - The Journey over the top. I wanted more texture so i mixed modeling paste with the Rainbow Color Duo - Turquoise and used this through the Vintage Newspaper 6x6 stencil.

Behind my image I built layers from sheets of 6x6 Travel the World paper that i cut into 2 different sized tags.  Layering with with a few of the 'Travel the World' chipboard pieces also. Some of these are inked and some are embossed.

Painting the 'Adventure' title with just 'Black Cat' acrylic paint and nothing else really made the word a stand out among the other components.

My final touches were a few quotes from sticker collection 'Victoriana', a scattering of 'Black Square Glitter' (oh my this is some awesome glitter) and a splash of White 'Splash Ink'. This just tied everything together nicely.

I hope this has inspired you to create and use different products/collections together and really make a project your own.

Look forward to next time, Emma xx

Live your Dream with Emma for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi Everyone, Emma with you all.
I hope everyone is doing ok and are safe in this unusual time.
Today I hope I can inspire and help take your mind off the outside world for just a small time.
I really enjoy Steam Punk themes and so today's layout is a 'pretty' version of that, using awesome chipboard to compliment the theme.

Chipboard used:

Harlequin Clumps
Decorative Dangling Bits Set1
Steampunk Cog Strips
Fancy Clock Hand Set2

The perfect choice for this theme!

Most of the chipboard is painted white and then coated with 3 different emboss powders.
A chunky Pink one and a smooth shiny pink one, mixed with a smooth silver. And I love how the soft pink looks against the green, they really compliment each other.

The Harlequin clump I coated with a distress oxide and then I clear embossed.

I just love the Fancy Clock Hands so much, will need to add these to my stash so I never run out. They are perfect with any layout but I love how they look on this one especially.

I hope this has been a small distraction and inspires you to have a play in your scrap room at some stage.

Stay safe everyone and I will see you all very soon.

Emma xx

Destination Freedom - Created for 13@rts GDT

Hi everyone,
I'm super excited to be joining you all as guest designer!!
It was so awesome to play with beautiful products.
I'm from a country town called Clare in South Australia's wine region and have been scrapping for 14 years. Mixed media is my go to and a personal fave as I love getting my hands dirty.
Plus there are so many cool products out there to use.
My first project share with you....

I used the awesome Moonflowers paper from the Under the Stars collection for my base sheet.

I chose the perfect pieces from the Ephemera pack to compliment this awesome artwork I found on Pinterest. The background work was done with the Star Alliance acrylic stamp, that I gold embossed.

It is such an honor to play with these products.

I painted a few of the embellishments with 13@rts black gesso and Gold Pearl acrylic Paint.
after my composition was complete I then mixed Royal Gold Satin Pearl Pigment with a splash of water and then painted around my elements creating a shimmery border around my whole composition. This pigment is so awesome.
I finished with a few On the Wall text and some Splash white ink.

I hope you enjoyed my first share and I look forward to joining you all again soon.
Till then, Emma xx
