Tag It - Created for ScrappingClearly

Hello fellow SC friends!
Emma here sharing a nice quick creation with you all today.

So I really wanted to use up a few odds and ends in a few of my products, and I have seen lots of people making little tags and I was inspired by that idea.

With that in mind I created these...…

I started with a couple of the Heidi swapp Colour Magic Notes and a couple of the WeR memory keepers tags, I then decided to add just a little colour to them. I chose 2 Distress oxides, Scattered Straw and Old Paper.
I used a blending tool and applied to the backgrounds.

Then I added a couple of stamps, including the most dominate Jane Davenport glances stamp.
For 2 of the tags I cut into strips some left over sheets from Heidi Swapp paper pads and once happy with placements stapled in place.
For the other 2 tags I went with a few Heidi Swapp arrow embellishment, again once happy I stapled into place.

I kept adding arrows and a few arrows also came from Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule ephermera pack.
I wanted to use a few more of the cool Tim Holtz Small talk quotes, so I chose a few faves and added them.

Finally I flicked Distress Oxide reinkers in Squeezed Lemonade and TatteredRrose over my tags and just like that these little tags were complete.

This was a great way to use up product that maybe just sits on your desk waiting to be used or one that your not quite sure how to use.
I encourage you to go and have a quick play and use your odds and ends :)

I'll catch you all again soon, Em xx

Getaway - Layout created for 2Crafty design team.

Hi Everyone,
Emma here with you today sharing something Blue.

And here are the beautiful chippy pieces I chose for this layout.....

This page came together using lots of layers and texture.
In amongst the paper layers I have added the smaller Doodled frame which I inked with a Distress Oxide and the added a light dusting of gold emboss powder.

I really loved the way this looked so I inked the Wild Flower I picked out of the selection and instead of just dusting it lightly, stamped with emboss ink over the Oxide and the I embossed. It left a really nice subtle texture on the chipboard.

I was totally in love with this Gold emboss powder, so for the Light Bulb I coated it in 2 layers of it.

Oh how it shines.

I continued this same process for the Word also.

The Gold and Blues worked so well together. And I just adore this image too.
Such a great piece of inspo from Pinterest. Oh and before I go, the little moon shape on my layout is actually a piece of the frame that pops out from the cut. How cool and fitting for this layout....?

I hope you enjoy the rest of the month, and I will see you all in December.

Till then, Em. xx

Overthinking - layout created for 2Crafty

Hi friends, Emma here with you all today.
Today's layout that I'm sharing is one that I tried to express the frustration I have with overthinking my creative time.
Comparing myself to other creatives and doubting my own style is the kind of overthinking that can stumble the creating process.
So I found this awesome artwork on Pinterest and it spoke perfectly with me, and I instantly knew what direction I wanted to take with the page.
Could I interpret what was In my head to page?
I feel I did get pretty close.....what do you think?
I have created a Video for you all to see this vision come to life, check it out at the end of this blog :)
But...….
let me show you my layout first and what chippy I used.

With this layout I also wanted to use up a few pieces of chippy that have been left over from cutting a panel up or the last piece to pop out of a sheet, or that had just been found after looking through my tub of chippy.

I also wanted pieces to compliment my image and the organized chaos and creative venture that my page depicts ;)

For the Square panel piece I inked with just a black archival ink, keeping it very simple, but to still stand out from the background colours.

For the Doily frame that I tucked up in my layers, I inked also but this was with one of the complimentary Distress oxides I used on the background, this way it brought the colour up through the layers.

For the leafy round and the branch I applied the same inks as the square panel and frame, except the branch is a different colour this time.
If you look closely at the Leafy round you can see its inked imperfectly and I really liked that I didn't get an even coverage as it kind of represents the imperfection of overthinking, that's it's OK to not always be perfect, things work out anyway.

I chose embellishments that complimented the colour scheme and kept them simple, flicking ink over the whole page to tie it all together.

I must say that I am proud of this layout, it may not be to every ones liking but it felt good to let loose, trust in myself and play!

I hope you enjoy my video too, and that it inspires you in some way.

Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement and I look forward to seeing you all again later in the month.

Till then, Scrap on, Em xx

Lookout for Wonder - Layout for ScrappingClearly

Happy Monday SC friends!
Hope your weekend has been a good one.
Today I'm sharing a layout once again inspired by this months mood board.

This layout is a little bit Alice, a little bit Wonderland...…

I started off by using  different sheets of paper torn and adhered together. Then I gave it a coat of Clear Gesso.
Then I chose the colours in the mediums I wanted to use, for this layout I decided to use the Art Alchemy Acrylics. I chose Royal Red, Vintage Rose and a little bit of Aqua Rose.

I added some stamping onto my background and then started to play witth my layers. I went with a couple of tag/notes from the Heidi Swapp colour magic note pack.

These I painted over with the same acrylics as on my base papers.
Love the resist effect these have, colourful without being promonate.

For my embellies I wanted to go a little steam punk like the image I had chosen.

And also a couple of the cool Tim Holtz Key holes, which suited Alice, you know with all the doors she had to go through ;)

To finish this layout off I added some Prima Micro silver beads rolled over the flowers, gauze and papers. Totally love this touch.

And then finally....yep you guessed it a few splashes of Liquitex carbon black ink.

Have you joined in this month yet with our fab mood board? I just love these colours, it's certainly not colours I would normally play with.

I look forward to seeing your creations on facebook.

I'll catch you all again soon, until then I hope you have an awesome week.

All in Your head - layout for ScrappingClearly

Happy Sunday SC friends,
Emma here today to share another inspired layout of our moodboard.

Green is such an amazing colour. It can capture almost any sort of mood.

For this layout I chose this image I found on Pinterest in regard to anxiety and overthinking. I suffer from a bad anxiety disorder and crafting is usually my way of having some down time. But recently I have struggled with any creative vision. My head feels full all the time, no shut off button.
When I found this picture, it spoke volumes to me right at the moment with my mind telling me that I cant create anymore, comparing to others, ect. But I just decided to go for it anyway and the last few layouts I have found my old style reinvented. Trying new ideas, cranking the music while I craft helps too.
Again scrapbooking is my therapy.

So enough about me and more about my page. I decided to use up a few sheets of paper from some of the 6x6 paper pads I have, choosing those with mostly green in them. I cut them into various sized strips and started to piece them where I thought I might use my image.

Once I was happy with the positioning I stuck down including some old fabric, I coated it all with clear Gesso.
I then started to layer my colour on top, starting with an ink spray and then a couple of Distress Oxides.
Once they were dry I added some modelling paste through a stencil in just a few sections. Then I added a few different stamps around.

Directly under my picture I added a couple of tags and some more fabric.

Finally I finished it with a few odds and ends for my embellishments. I have really been enjoying the process of using old bits and bobs I've had for awhile, mixed with newer elements.

But I think my favourite embellishments on this page have to be the Pink Fresh paper hearts.

Finally for my title I used a quote from Tim Holtz snarky quotes stickers. It just seemed appropriate,
I could totally do with a vacation like that. (hehehe)

I hope this layout inspires you to maybe scrap a little today, or find something that makes you feel happy in some way.

Whatever your day holds I hope you enjoy it.
I look forward to next month when I will see you all again.

Luv Em xx
