Pretty in Pink created for WWOne

Hi everyone.
Today I'm sharing a page that has been Created for White With One design team.
This is the theme and sketch for the month of April.....

And here is how I interpreted it.....

Pink is not my usual colour but boy I had fun playing with all these shades of pink.

I used paints and inks and elements all with similar shades of pink.

I also used the sketch as a page starter. But tightened the sketch to suit my style of scrapbooking.

I hope you join us in created with this months challenge. I cant wait to see how you interpret it.

#blessed - created for 2Crafty

Hi 2Crafty friends, Emma here today sharing a layout with Autumn tones.
I thought this a relevant colour scheme as here in Aussie land we have just started our autumn season.
Which I must admit I love.

Here is my layout and the Chipboard pieces I used.....

I used:
Corner Retro
Mini #Word Set
Fine Stem Frames
Fern Leaf Set
Leafy Silhouettes

The frame I tried a few different finishes to get the final look.
First I coated it in 2 different oxides, then clear embossed it and then finally went over the dry emboss with ink and oxide again to get the desired rustic old look.

The Leafy Silhouettes and Retro corner I applied a rust paste and then dabbed over them with Dylusion inks to compliment the colours in the layout. Finally on these I added a clear emboss, deliberately missing sections to add a contrast from glossy to matte.
I really like this distressed look.

I liked it so much I did the same thing with the Fern leaves. They look so striking against the paper elements.

With the title I decided to emboss an orange powder over a black ink. This contrasted again from the other chipboard as well as complimenting the photo. Standing out on its own. Again not opting for the perfect finish but just letting the powder adhere where it needed.

I love scrapping imperfectly as this is what I am, and, if I tried to make every art piece perfect I would never finish a project. Don't get me wrong, I can be quite the perfectionist when I need but I really like the look of something finished but imperfect just as much. I feel it adds personality, a touch of me. #imadethis

I hope you enjoy and are just a little inspired by my layout.
I look forward to seeing you all again next month.

Till then, Em xx

It's all Perspective - created for scrappingClearly

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today I decided to create away from the mood board and go a little boyish.
I found this awesome image on Pinterest of this cute little guy who just happens to be a doll.
I love how much character he has.

How cute is he hey?!
So to start off, on this page I went a little different and went with using up some of my Tim Holtz Rubons. These are the Numbers ones.
Then I chose a couple of colours from the Distress Oxide reinkers that matched my papers, starting with Candied apple, I smooshed this over the background. dried it off and then went in with Broken China.
I loved that the ink just sat in and around the rub ons and made them really pop from the base sheet.

Behind my image I cut some tags out of a sheet from the Paper Arts collection, this one is called Psychedelic 1.
Making sure the tags  had pops of red in them to compliment the skateboard the little doll is holding.
In amongst those tags I free cut a sheet of Heidi Swapp die cut paper to add contrast and layers.

The chosen embellishments start with Some items from the Pink Fresh 'Escape the Ordinary' fabric die cuts.
Cocoa Vanilla flair and Some Pink Fresh block wood stickers.

The quotes are Tim Holtz Small talk stickers that always suit the mood.
Finally a flick of white ink and this page was done.
Love the feel of this finished page.

I hope you enjoy it too.
I hope you all have a great week and will catch you all again real soon.
Till then, Em xx.

Take risks - creatred for ScrappingClearly

Welcome to Tuesday everyone!
Emma here with you all today and I have continued to be inspired by this months SC moodboard.
Lets check it out together along with my layout.

It's a very cool board this month and again I have enjoyed playing with the colour inspo.
Now once upon a time purple was my nemesis, but now I quite enjoy playing with it especially paired with these shades on the board.

I Prepped my base sheet with a clear gesso to then allow the inks I used to run down the page easily.
I Smooshed the oxide around under where the photos where going to be placed and then once that was dry started dripping the colours.
When the 2 colours crossed over each other I then got differing shades.

Once the inks were dry I started stamping the eyes. I have used one of the Jane Davenport glances stamps, but instead of using them as a pair I only stamped one eye at a time to compliment the images.

This layout I have kept the embellishments very minimal, opting to use a little muslin under my images and then use a few Art pebbles (melange) down and around my layout as well as some cool Glass pebbles that I attached with A Matte Gel.

Lastly the awesome quotes are Tim Holtz Small talk stickers that are always useful and tell the story.

So that's it for my page today, nice bright simple layout.
Have you had a chance to be inspired yet?
The DT are sure inspiring with their creations, be sure to check them out on the facebook page.

I'll Catch you again real soon.
Luv Em xx

Flower Power created for 2Crafty

Hi all, Emma with you today on the blog.
Today my inspo is flowers, now flowers are never really a go to for me. I will add one or 2 to a layout but never many. I had fun with it this concept and this layout.
In saying that, this layout actually feels very floral for me. ;)

Here are the chippy pieces I used.....

Amelia flower stems small
Decorative Rod set 2
Spring Flower Bunches

I kept the Chipboard nice and simple, I find this really makes them a feature otherwise I think they can get lost a bit.

I painted them with a metallique acrylic paint, then once dry rubbed up to 3 different Art Alchemy wax’s over the top to add slight contrast and shine.

I love how the chipboard just shines.

I hope this layout inspires a little and you get a chance to scrap too.

I will see you all again soon.
Em xx

Own your Dreams for ScrappingClearly

It's Tuesday which means it's my share today.
And I have drawn inspiration from the SC mood board for the month of March.
Have you seen it yet?
Check it out here...….

And here is how I interpreted it...…

I really focused on the colour from the board for this one.
I used a mix of ingredients including Dylusions Ink Spray in Crushed grape, a Lindy's shimmer in Silent night Silver, Ranger Enamel Accent in Caribean coast.
I also flicked a little Distress Oxide around and I chose Hickory Smoke.

I used the purple and turquoise shades to really enhance the Fairy Orb stamp. Love this stamp!!

The Metals I painted with a black gesso and then rubbed some Art Alchemy Wax over the top to add some depth and sheen.

Behind my image I layered one of the Heidi Swapp Decorative tag that I added colour to, which you can see me do in my video that I have created. Plus I cut a tag out of a sheet from Heidi swapp die cut paper.

Lastly a couple of Tim Holtz Small talk quotes and a few art pebbles thrown around for good measure.

I will be back next week with another interpretation of the mood board for you all.

I cant wait to see how you play with the board.
I would love you to check out my video here....

Till next week, Em xx

You do You - for ScrappingClearly

Welcome to Tuesday friends, Em with you all today.
I have been finding it really hard to find time to scrap lately or finding the right head space to scrap in, so I decided to do a layout that doesn't use too many elements and comes together fairly quickly for me.

I started as usual with most of  my layouts and used a Clear Gesso to prime my base paper. Once dry I then added modelling paste through a stencil and then went over that with 2 Distress Oxides, this time I chose Cracked Pistachio and Spun Sugar.
I wanted to leave it soft in colour as the vibe of the photo was soft and peaceful.
I only added 1 stamp also from Jane Davenports build a bouquet set.

Then I used a mix of elements, layering with Heidi swapp ephemera pieces and flower trimmings.

I added a few quotes from Tim Holtz and some stitched hearts by Pink Fresh studio.
These are a perfect addition to any sort of layout.

A few flicks of Dylusions ink and this page is finished. I think it took approx 15 mins to put together once I knew what elements I was using.

I hope it inspires you to try out some simple layouts when you may be time poor.

I'll see you all soon, Em xx
