Choose to Shine created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi everyone,
I can not believe that 2022 is just around the corner. How fast time goes!
But before it does come, today I share this layout using more awesome chippy.

Chipboard used.....

Flourish Adornment set 4
Anika Frame
Lattice Leaf Set

A soft layout calls for soft chipboard. The Anika frame was the perfect frame for this image and it's layers. All the chipboard pieces were primed with black gesso. And then had wax finishes.

The frame had 3 different waxes layered on it to bring out the soft tones in the flowers of the image.
As for the lattice leaves, I chose to leave them black. These were a striking difference from the coloured foliage and background.

This stunning flourish had a wax finish also. Again it added a little shine that complimented the colours in this composition.

I love these chipboard pieces together and how they are layered in amongst the paper layers. I also love how well they work with resin pieces. Chipboard that is so versatile, for every project.

I hope you have been able to take advantage of the holidays and have got your craft on.
I also hope you have a safe and happy New Year and I will see you all soon in 2022.

Stay safe and crafty, Em xx

Life in Pictures created for 2Crafty chipboard

 Hello Lovelies!

Em with you on the blog today sharing a vintage/nature vibed piece. This project is created using some bookplates that are heavily layered and are created on its own with no background paper ect. I guess it's a little like making a large tag, or mini layout. And of course the chipboard pieces compliment these pages perfectly.

These are the glorious chipboard items.....

Leafy Shrub Set
Tiny Leaf Stems
Mini Tags

I decided to play around with the chipboard more than I usually do. In saying that the finishes chosen were still simple to execute.

For the Tiny Leaf Stems I chose to paint them in a beautiful green acrylic and then dusted them lightly with an embossing powder.

I wasn't after complete coverage on the leaves so leaving them random suited me and gave way to more detail & interest.

The piece that I chose from the Leafy shrub set was painted with the same green acrylic as the leaves and this time a clear emboss glaze was used over to create a shine and allow the green to shine through.
Then the little mini tags were painted in a blue acrylic. Once these were dried I added rub-ons to create a worn vintage finish but totally compliment the background papers used.

I love the over all look to this piece and the chipboard and resin really make this creation a stand out for me. I love these colour tones too.

I hope it has inspired you a little.
Happy crafting friends and I will see you later in the month.

Em xx

Dream A Little created for ScrappingClearly

 Hello fellow creatives.

Emma with you all today with a quick little Art Journal.
I had a heap of Art by Marlene products that I have been itching to use, so I finally sat down and created.

As I was using some Art by Marlene I chose to create in my 5.0 ABM ring album.
I love this album as I can remove the smaller sized pages and create, which adds a sense of freedom.
Then I chose a few elements from the Out of this world Paper elements pad.

These paper elements are so super cute. I wanted to keep the background simple yet effective so I started by tearing strips of ABM washi tapes and placing them in a large L shape on the page.
Then I chose to play with Distress Oxides to compliment the colours in the washi and paper elements.

I chose the new Villainous Potion colour, Cracked pistachio and Faded Jeans.
Can't go wrong with oxides. Instant colour with awesome results. Then I chose a couple of Aall & Create stamps to compliment the space theme that I had chosen.

I scribbled a few pen lines & circles and then applied my elements.
Including a little ABM sticker and quote.

I totally recommend playing with the whimsy Art by Marlene products, they really allow a youthful creativity.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Em xx

Fearless & Free Canvas featured for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi all, can you believe we are at the end of November already?
This month/year has been crazy!!
Today I share colour and simplicity.

Here are the chipboard pieces I used.....

2c Fern Leaf Set
Squiggly Bits
Decorative Doily

I kept my chipboard simple to be striking against the colour layers.

I primed them all with Black gesso and then left them just like that.

The black against the colour looks so good! Simple yet striking.
Keeping the pieces real and beautiful in their own rights.

There is a small video available to see all the elements come together. I hope it inspires you.

Have a great day everyone.

Natural Beauty created for 2Crafty Chipboard

  Hello everyone.

Emma with you on the blog today and I also have a little video for you all to see this page come to life.

First though lets see the page...

And here is the awesome chipboard used....

Doily Frames
Mini Frame
Mini Triangle set

As the saying goes 'Everything old is new again' so is this page I created.
I used ideas and techniques used many years ago when I first started scrapbooking. The only thing different is I'm using 'new' products that are now on the market, and hopefully the techniques are a little more mastered..hehehe.

I used rub-ons on the base of my page and then matching some chipboard to compliment each other.
The finishes are simple, the Mina frame was primed with black gesso and then once dry I added a lovely white gold wax to the top. This lended itself to match the browner tones on the page.

I applied the same finish to the mini frame also.

The triangles were primed with white gesso and then embossed with a blue and a white powder to compliment the colour choices in the photo image.

The flow from the colours and shapes really suited this image and I love that I revisited a style I have not played with for a little while. Hopefully modernising it a little.

Check out my video to see all the elements come together, I hope you enjoy the process.

I will see you all soon.
Happy crafting.

Em xx

Sanctuary created for 2Craftychipboard

  Hi 2crafty friends.

Today I share a nature inspired layout.

And these are the amazing chippy pieces used...

Barb Wire
Amelias Frames
Mini Travel words 1

I love how this page took form. Not my usual style to start off with, using modelling paste adding colour....ect....bur rather using a stencil and adding oxide ink through it on a white cardstock base.

This gave a great earthy feel which was exactly what I was after, Then I added some rub ons and some stamping. This was the base complete. Within my composition I added the amazing chipboard pieces.

Wanting to keep the warm earthy tones I was going to keep the chippy raw, I decided against it and added a light tint from some oxides instead.

The mini word I chose for this project is Sanctuary. It really spoke to me and suited the image I chose.
We all need to go back to nature and breathe the fresh air.

And the last piece of chippy added was the barb wire. I chose this chipboard as a focus on what mankind has done to slowly ruin our forests and our nature. Slowly though, I believe this earth will grow back to the beauty it always was.

I hope that you have been inspired today and I look forward to seeing you next month.

Stay crafty, Em xx

Brave created for 2Crafty Chipboard

 Welcome everyone.

Emma here with you today. And today I share a 9"x12" layout with you entitled 'Brave'.

Check out the awesome chipboard used on this project...

Decorative Doily
Lattice Leaf Set
Pointy Flower Vines

Again this project I kept it sweet and simple with my finishes on the chipboard.

The beautiful pointy flower vine was painted with a pink acrylic paint and once dry 3 different wax finishes were applied. All the colours were chosen to reflect the paper choice and photo used.

The stunning lattice leaves are again painted with an acrylic first and then a couple of Matte wax to draw out the shade of blue to match the layout.

And this final piece which I think is my favourite decorative doily is also painted with another pink/purple acrylic and a couple of matte waxes.

I love the simplicity of the mediums on all the chipboard pieces, yet the outcome of the page is striking, bright and playful.

I hope this page has inspired you a little today.

See you all soon, Em xx

'Beauty' created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello! Hope you all are doing ok.
Todays share is a colour combo that is a personal fave of mine.
And it features a technique that makes for an easy scrapbook page.

Here are the chipboard pieces featured......

Leafy Shrub Set2
Chunky Hearts
Crazy Circles

The background of this page is using the simple technique of smooshing oxide inks with a piece of acetate on to the white cardstock.
And because I liked the simplicity of this page I kept the chipboard simple also with the finishes.

I primed all the chipboard pieces with white Gesso to start with. The Leafy Shrub pieces I dabbed a little Oxide Ink straight over the top of the white gesso once it was dry. The colour of the oxide really pops when over the Gesso. I also loved how your could still see the contrast of the white in sections of the chipboard.

The big Crazy Circles panel was also primed with white Gesso and then, with an old tattered brush added white crackle paste. I use an old brush for this because it adds the crackle thickly and thinly to the board without the hassle of purposely doing it.

Then once the crackle was dry, colour was applied. I used 3 different ink sprays and a liquid acrylic to add depth to the crackle texture. Once happy with the level of colour I added just a hint of wax over some of the heavily cracked areas.
The Chunky heart on the picture has the same technique applied to it.

I hope this page has inspired you a little today.
I look forward to seeing you all again real soon.

Take care, Em xx
