Always and forever - PictureThis!

Happy 2017 everyone!!
Wow where did 2016 go??
This year we are going to try new and fun things over at Picture This!
Starting with this months new challenge of using texture.
Texture can mean so many things, and I just love playing with it.
I love gesso and texture paste and paint flicks, but then I love to add chipboard and paper layers also.
So many things you can add to a layout to add texture.

Stamping is a big element that I love to add on top of the texture paste and gesso.
It adds a little interest also.

We would all love for you to join in with this challenge, you don't need to use a lot to add texture, try a small thing to start, I'm sure once you start you will be hooked.
Thanks for taking time to check out my blog, and I'll be making sure I check out your blog very soon.
Till next month, Em. Xx

Happiness-PictureThis! - Emma Zappone

Well hello there,
I'm here today to share my Design Team layout for PictureThis Challenges for the month of December!
December really????
This month we have very cool inspiration in the form of shapes.
That's right, just create a layout (or journal page, card, OTP, ect) with the shape you desire. Be it circles, squares, triangles, what ever shape takes your fancy!
I was inspired by the triangle shape.......

I didn't use to many but they are certainly a big feature.
I got to play a little with some new mixed media products too including Colour Blast Mica powders. Too cool!

I covered some chipboard triangles with paper, and some I painted, just to mix it up a little. 😝

I used a very cool chipboard title from 2crafty and painted it to match.

And like most of my layouts I finished it off with some twine and a flair with some flicks of paint for good measure.
I really hope you can have a play with our challenge this month. I look forward to seeing your creations.
Till next time, Em. Xx

Beautiful- sharing the colour

Hi everyone!!
I'm very happy to share my first DT layout as part of Rainbow Splendour with you all today.
I just love the cool kits Chloe puts together. So full of colour and perfect for any layout.
This layout is using the August kit tropical twist.

For those of you that don't know me, I have 2 amazing boys, so scrapping girly is a treat but also limiting because I don't have many girls around me 😉.  Thank goodness my cousin does! Lol!!
They are gorgeous kids and give me lots of inspiration.

In Chloe's kits I love the veneer flowers and the cool cut outs!! They certainly help tell a story. The embellies in the kits really complete a page.

I can't wait to see the other DT girls pages and hope we can inspire you to join in 'sharing the colour'.
Till next month thanks for visiting and I'll see you all soon.

A moment captured

Hi there,
It's the start of the month!!
This year is seriously moving along!!
So over at PictureThis we have a brand new challenge! Want to know what it is???
It has a few elements to it...use layers, one photo and fussy cutting!

My layout consists of many fussy cuts including the arrows, camera and clouds.

Layering is something I often do, but fussy cutting was a little trickier. But I really quite liked finding elements to cut out.

I really hope you all have a go at this fun challenge. More prizes up for grabs too.
I'll be sure to check out all your amazing creations over at PictureThis!
Till next we meet, Em. Xx

Cherish

Happy Friyay all,
I'm here to share my last ever D-Lish layout as a design team member.
It is a bit sad, but it's been a blast also. I've had so much fun, and have grown as a scrap booker along the way too.
So today I share a layout of my cousins girls. Something bright and girly.
With pops of teal and pink. d-lish has so many sorts of flowers and pretty things that a girly layout comes together quite easy.

I also used more from the last kit on this layout, so much in these kits that you can make many layouts from the one kit.

With matching flairs and wood veneer it's very hard not to get creative.

Amanda will release a new kit tomorrow and I'm sure it will be amazing! It always is.

Thank you to all of you for your kind words, and hope I was able to give a little inspiration in my time as a designer.
Thank you Amanda for this past year also, for such an amazing opportunity.

Welcome to the new designers, I'm sure you will inspire us all.
I look forward to seeing all the upcoming creations, and challenges here at D-lish.
Thanks and goodbye, Em. Xx

Happy - PictureThis! mid month

Hi everyone!
It's mid month challenge time for PictureThis!!
It's another cool one.....'star bright' use stars in your layout.
I instantly think boys when I think of stars, but I thought I would mix it up a little and just use it like any other embellishment.
I love being a mum of boys and this photo of my youngest and I, is a fave at the mo.

So I thought this would allow the opportunity to use stars in more then just a boyish tone and use a little pretty.

On this layout I played with mini feathers, resin flowers (one of my fave embellies right now)
And a real mix of chipboard and wood veneer stars.

So much fun using so many cool embellishments and pops of colour.
I really hope you get the chance to play along with this challenge. I can't wait to see all your layouts.
Till next time, Em. Xx

Special guest designer- rainbow splendour

Hi everyone!!
I'm so thrilled to be a Guest designer for Rainbow Splendour this month.
Chloe releases the cutest kits, and I love that I have got to share her products in this way.

So here is my layout using her latest kit, Sail Away.....

I had so much fun, playing with colour and this kit.
At first I saw the vaneer boats and wondered how I could incorporate them without a water scene??
And then I thought they looked like the paper hats that you use to make when a kid, and so decided to use it as a hat/crown on my sons head..lol!

Chloe also had cut files with her kit and so I cut a few flags out and added them to my layers.

And I finished it all off with the felt bow and a speech bubble kit bit veneer.

Hope this gives a little inspiration, and a HUGE thank you to Chloe for having me showcase one of her kits this month.

Till next we meet, Em. Xx

Love your smile

Hello there!
It's the first of September which means a new challenge is up over at Picture This!
I love all the challenges but I perticularly loved this one as it is 'about the boys' and well....I have boys!!! 😝

So pretty much you just need to scrap a layout dedicated to boys!! How cool is that!!
I had lots of fun, and couldn't wait to scrap this photo of my eldest boy!
I texture pasted around, and then stamped a plenty. Adding some ink mists and paint around.

Then came the layers!! I love layers!! And I think tags are fun to layer with so I added 3, lol!!

I remembered I wanted to use some shapes around my layout so I cut the triangles, heart and circle out of some PL cards, and then incorporated them into the layers.

My embellishments consist of many different pieces, from very cool imaginarium designs chipboard to the cocoa vanilla veneer!!
I always mix my brands, I feel if they compliment, it's on my page. And let's face it there are sooooo many awesome brands out there!!
I really hope you all have a go at this very fun challenge. Don't forget prizes are up for grabs!!
I can't wait to see your layouts.
I'll see you all soon, Em. Xx

This is Bliss

Before I say goodbye on this 'Ruby Tuesday' I have one last share to show you all.😎
This layout I'm sharing today, made me relive summer, warmth and a time of slowing down.
I can't wait for winter to be over now!!
Anyhow here is my layout......

Ahhhhh a bit of summer bliss to reminisce!
These colours add to that summer feel.
I used some of the muslin that is available in the D-lish store, I must admit I have not played with this very much as it scares me a little. But I felt this picture needed me to use it.
And it was one of the first pieces I placed on my page.

That is after I added gesso and paint. I also added some turquoise beads over the muslin.
I used a dusty attic chipboard word, that I painted. Some soft little birdie flowers scattered around added to the over all effect.
Of course I used plenty of layers, cos if you had not guessed yet, I really do love to layer.
I incorporated some white punchinella with PL cards and a tag it.

And a flair to tie it all in.
And how cool are the glass cabachons?? I totes adore these!!

I have absolutely loved sharing my designs with you all this month.
I hope you have an amazing month until I see you all again.
Till then, Em. Xx

Laugh at yourself

Morning everyone on this 'manic Monday', 😉
Today I'm sharing a page inspired by fellow DT member Krisy.
She set a very cool challenge over in the Scrap Suite for the monthly cyber crop, create a grungy layout!

I was inspired a lot by the top right corner picture and I must admit I did tone the grunge down a little, but I had so much fun creating this one.
I actually dug out some mediums that I have not played with for such a long time to create my background.
I started with some stencilling and a few squirts of mist spray, but didn't want to over do the drips. So I used some Perfect Peals flicked around my paper and then flicked water over them and it created this amazing dusting of colour. And it looks a little like graffiti paint right?

I then flicked black paint around really haphazardly to add to that grunge, unstructured feel.
(But of course it's completely sctructured)

I wanted something slightly feminine on the page with the add of a few flowers, I used one of the hessian flowers and because it was not the right colour I spritzed it black. And it looked so good, and coloured so well.
A bit of twine, some more mini roses, enamel dots and some torn, roughed up paper brought this layout together.
And don't forget one of the D-lish flairs!!!

Thank you Krisy for setting a very cool concept.
I hope you loyal followers have a go at some of the very inspiring challenges set this month ( oh yer, I think I set one this month too 😝)
I'll catch you all tomorrow with a more calming layout for a Tuesday.

Epic

Hi, Emma here with you the next few days, and I'm hoping it's an 'easy like Sunday Mornin' for you all. 😁
Today to start off my design team shares with you is a layout using this months JAP kit for D-lish.
The colours are just perfect, and it's leaning more in favour with the boys. Awesome!!
So here is my layout and the mood board and kit used.......

How amazing are those veneer triangles!!!
In fact I found this kit to be totally 'epic' with its contents.
I started my page with some good old gesso and stamps.
I painted my triangles but left the title raw with just some faux stitching.
I also used the triangles as stencils around my page.

I layered up yet again with a few PL cards and the tissue paper that is in the kit.
With a little washi also. 😉

I love how Amanda always helps tell the story with her flairs, and this kit had 3 super 'rad' ones to play with. I chose to use two on this layout, saving the third for future play.

I finished my layout with a couple of tag its and flicks of white paint, I love how this adds a touch of blending all the items together.

I hope this Sunday brings you some creative time, and I will catch you all tomorrow, with a little Monday Inspo.
Till then, Em. Xx

Noted

Hey everyone......
Today is the 15th which means a new challenge is up to play along with at Picture this!!
How cool it is to have 2 challenges a month!! Well this mid month challenge is a tricky one but a great one!
Use a not so perfect photo,
we all have them (usually the first I erase off my camera) and now is the chance to showcase the imperfect. The blink, chopped head, blurry, you name it we want to see it 😝
Here is my interpretation for the DT......

It's a good old travel pic, where you think 'hey let's take a photo while the car is moving' whoops, Bump, and it's now out of focus, lol!
Scrapbooking is unique because we love to scrap the everyday, so this challenge really presents the everyday.
And then we make it pretty 😜

I really loved this challenge and really hope you get inspired to play along too.
We would love to see what you create and what imperfect photo you choose to make a memory.
Till next time.
Em. Xx
