True Beauty - created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello 2Crafty friends,
Emma here with you all for my last project of the year but also 2Crafty's last blog post for the year. So I feel very honored to finish 2019 in this way. I have truly enjoyed being a part of the design team this year and can not wait to be a part of it all again in 2020. So lets see how the awesome chipboard inspired me this month.

Here is the amazing chipboard in the raw......

Element Set 1
Mini Word Set 1
6" Funky lines Panel

I often like to keep the chipboard pretty simple so it really becomes the focal feature without getting too lost in all the other paper elements.
So with the chosen chipboard for this page I opted to use a bolder colour to 'pop' from the page and I did this with Rust effect pastes.

This is probably one of my most fave ways of covering my chipboard as I adore the texture. I wanted it to feel earthy to match the tranquility and awe of the image I had chosen.

After the Rust paste had dried I lightly rubbed over them with a Prima wax. This really added highlights and showed up more of that texture that I love.

With the title 'beauty' I only rubbed over it with the wax, no other preparation involved. Again this is why I love 2crafty chipboard as it is so easy to use with various mediums.
I must admit one of my other favourite elements on this page is the little watch. My 12yr old Son Asha loves watching me create and likes to help me choose embellishments for me for some of my layouts. He put together all the little prills, hearts and flakes together in the fob and I loved it so much. It made the layout of course!

I wish to thank all you 2crafty supporters and readers for all the love you have shown over the past year and I look forward to sharing with you all in 2020.
Happy creating friends.

Much love to you all.

Tranquil Moments with Emma for 2Crafty

Hi 2Crafty friends, Emma here with you all today.
Today I have a nice quick layout for you.
I used some beautiful chipboard pieces and applied simple techniques to them just to make them shine.

Here are the chipboard pieces I used....

Tranquil moments
Clock Face Discs
Decorative Dangling Bits

I really did want to keep these as simple as I could, so I painted all but the title with black gesso, and I black glitter embossed the clock faces.

The decorative bits I rubbed a little Nuvo mousse over them just to give them a subtle hint of colour and shine.

I love how soft they look against the background paper.

And the title I painted in a blue acrylic and then went over the top with a white crackle.
Once dry I rubbed a little Prima wax over the top to give it the blue shade to match the theme of my layout.

I really love the simple approach to the chipboard especially when delicate pieces are used as it just lets them sing on their own.

I hope I have given you all a little Saturday inspo and I will catch you all again soon,
Em xx

Kept her Word - created for Csi & 2Crafty

Hi, Emma here with you all.
And for today's blog post I will be sharing a page and a video that has been created for this months CSI challenge. 2Crafty are sponsoring for the month of November, which is totally awesome.
I chose to solve Case 301.

And here is the result....

Here are the chipboard pieces I chose also....
Polaroid Assorted Frames
Mini Branches
Clock Face Frames
Light Bulb Word Set1

Here is how I solved the case. For the Evidence section I opted to go for Wood grain, light bulbs, leaves and frames, plus I chose this image from Pinterest as it is really awesome but it had fish as the girls hair and thought it worked well with the Evidence.

For the Testimony Part I chose the Inspiration Words, and chose the word 'home'. And I made it part of my story telling element.

I stuck very closely to the colour scheme and had a lot of fun playing with these tones. Red is a particularly hard colour for me, so I darkened it slightly to feel more earthly. But hopefully it didn't take away from the colour palette.

I hope you join in this month with the challenge. There are 3 to choose from and all very different.
I have made a video for this layout coming together that I hope you will draw inspo from too.

Look forward to more challenges in the future.

A Whimsy Layout with Emma for 2Crafty Chipboard.

Hello 2Crafty friends,
It's the end of the month which means I, Emma, will be sharing with you all today.
I made something a little more feminine for me with this page.
And I love the chipboard pieces used on it too.

The chipboard I chose for this page are.....
4" Mandala No.1
4" Mandala No.2
Aztec Feathers

Delicate and feminine.
I decided to keep the finish on the chipboard very soft and simple also.

I used Finnabair Metallique Acrylic paints on the feathers as it covers so perfectly and with such ease over the chipboard. Plus it has such a beautiful sheen once dry.
At the completion of my page I scattered some Prills over my elements including the chipboard.

The Mandalas are also painted with the same acrylic paint as the feathers, so that they complimented each other. I kept Mandala No.1 whole but with Mandala No.2 I cut it in half and layered the 2 halves on top of each other.

Just love how delicate this chipboard is.

Look how much shine comes from the chipboard. Just love this Mandala, it's one of my favourites.

I hope this page has inspired you a little, maybe for an end of month boost.
I will see you all very soon.
Em xx

Beautiful Memories Forever - Farewell from Emma for ScrappingClearly

Hi lovely Scrapping Clearly Friends.
Emma here with you all for my what will be my last time here on the blog as part of this amazing Design Team. I am so very VERY sad to be leaving, unfortunately due to some work commitments I have had to say goodbye. It has been such an amazing team to be on, and Kylie is just the BEST person to work for and design for. And all you wonderful friends are going to be missed also, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. ARGH I'm totally crying right now!
So instead of me crying let me share my final page with you all...….I decided to play with items that became favourites for me and still are.

After choosing some paper and tags ect, I pulled out my Distress Oxides. First though I coated my base sheet with clear gesso to prime my page for the oxides. Before I started on the oxides I used the Distressed Lace stencil by TCW and spread a transparent modelling paste through. Then I chose 4 colours to suit my image, these included.... Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Carved Pumpkin and Cracked Pistachio. I added the colour with the good ol' smoosh effect with a piece of plastic wrapping and dried in between layers.

Once the oxides were dried I then added another stencil this time it was Script Dots by TCW and used  White Crackle paste through it. Dried this off and flicked a little Art Alchemy Romance pink all over. I then stamped. I picked some of my faves, the awesome Studio Light Grunge Smile like a flower stamp and my all time fave Fairy Orb stamps.

In amongst my layers I cut up a sheet of Heidi Swapp Die cut paper and tucked that into my other elements.

This title I chose from an old 13 arts paper, it really spoke to me as I created this final layout. I have always really enjoyed creating for this team and I feel I made some beautiful creations due to the awesome product I got to play with from SC. So it just seemed fitting to add this for my final page.

As like nearly all my projects for SC I added a couple of quotes from Tim  Holtz Small talk stickers and flicked Liquitex Titanium white ink over the final page.

I do have one final video made for you to watch of this page coming together too. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you Kylie, the team and all you lovely friends for all your kind comments and support and generosity over the past 2+ years. It has been an amazing experience.
I won't be gone forever as I love a good challenge and SC always have awesome challenges and I will just have to join in!
But for now I say thank you and Goodbye xxxx

Em xx
