Magical - video and layout created for 2Crafty

Welcome to the end of the week 2Crafty friends.
Em sharing with you today.
Here is my Friday inspo...…

And here are the beautiful chippy pieces used....

Products used are:
Freda's Butterflies
Florance swirl set
Fine word set 2
Decorative Discs

I would love you to check out my video here...

And in more detail this is what I treated my chippy with.

For the finish on the butterflies I opted to ink with Archival black ink and then with my finger applied a Distress Oxide over the top to give a little colour and then again with my finger rubbed Finnabair wax over that.
Simple yet effective.

I applied the same process with the decorative discs but with different colours.

For the word I coated it in a coordinating Distress Oxide, super quick on this delicate word but striking all the same.

And for the beautiful Swirls I inked yet again with the black ink but then stamped over them with a white ink to add interest and texture.
I love this effect and use it quite often on the chippy.

I hope this and the video give you a little Friday maybe weekend inspo?

I look forward to visiting you all again in Feb.
Till then Em xx

Live your Life - for Scrapping Clearly

Welcome to Tuesday everyone!!
Today I’m sharing a layout with you that is loosely based on the mood board for this month.
The image I found for this page I feel is almost a portrait of me, With our cat Augustus.
And I’ve used plenty of ScrappingClearly products.

I started with applying clear Gesso over the base sheet and then once dry started to apply my stamps.
I started with a Lavinia stamp and used the small stones along the base of where I was going to apply the flowers.
Then wanting to use paper flowers and fabric flowers I stamped on smooth white card some flowers off the Jane Davenport building a Bouquet stamp set. I then painted them with a couple of Distress Oxides. I Chose to use Tattered Rose and Antique linen, to match the mood board a little.

Then I added with a paint brush some Lindy's sprays to drip down the page. I chose Moon Shadow Bucket o Blood and Magnolia Magenta.

Once dry I started to layer my Inkadinkado cling stamps, I used the fossil leaves.

I used a little of Art alchemy wax in Rose Gold on my finger and rubbed over the texture paste I had put down earlier.

Once all the flowers and image were adhered down I added some glass pebbles and Tim Holtz small talk stickers to relate to me and life. finally I flicked a little Liquidex Titanium White over the page.

That's all from me today. I hope you enjoyed this page I created for you.
I hope you get a chance to play along too.
I'll catch you all next week.

You are Darling - created for scrapping Clearly

Happy Tuesday SC friends.
Emma here with you today to share my first Scrapping Clearly post for the 2019 year.
Todays inspo was driven from this months gorgeous mood board.

I was inspired by the colour palette but also the 20's Vintage style, hence my photo.
For this layout I started by giving my base sheet a coat of Clear gesso.

Once dry I applied my colours, I used 3 Distress Oxides in Scattered straw, Fossilised Amber and Victorian Velvet for that soft pink effect.
I then proceeded to stamp  using 1 from a Jane Davenport clear stamp and 1 from Finnabair cling stamp collection.

Within my layers I cut up the flowers from one of the Heidi Swapp die cut paper sheet set, and painted them with a beautiful shimmer ink in the aubergine colour. once they were dry I them Gold Embossed a script stamp over the top of them to add a bit of glam.

The large tag I used is from Heidi swapp decorative tags pack which I didn't touch except distress the edges.

Oh how I love tags!!!

In amongst more of the layers are a few Hawthorne ephemera pieces also from Heidi swapp. Including the gorgeous title piece (as seen below), and a metal flower from Finnabairs mechanicals collection, that I rubbed a little Prima wax over, I used Rose Gold colour for this (smells soooo good).

I then added a couple of quote stickers from Tim Holtz small Talk pad, and a flick of Art Alchemy acyclic in Soft Satin to bring it all together.

I love the glam/vintage vibe I get from this months board and I hope I managed to capture that in my artwork.

I will catch you all next week for more inspo and I Hope you get the chance to join in this month also.

Plus we have a Save the Date you must check out for our CyberCrop….YAY!!

Till next time, Em xx

Shine - created for 2Crafty

Hi all 2Crafty friends.
So happy to join you all in 2019!
For my first share in January I have a fresh layout to hopefully inspire you to get back into the creative vibe.
Cos let's be honest it's so hard to get back into anything after time off!

And here are the chipboard pieces that brought this all to life....

Light Bulbs
Steampunk Strips
Fine Word set 2
Mini Sampler Set 1

I really love to let the chipboard speak so I try to paint, ink or emboss simply with colours that really allow them to shine.

For the Chevrons from Mini Sampler set I chose to emboss with 2 colours to bring out the theme from the base colours.
Hence the yellow and blue.

The Light Bulb I inked with an archival black ink to keep it simple yet stand out against the lighter background and photo.

I also did this for the word Shine for my title.

For the Steampunk Strip I used, I decided to use an acrylic paint in the complimentary blue.
I didn't add anything else to it, left it with just the one colour so it didn't get lost.

I hope you get a chance to Shine and get creative very soon.
I'll see you all very soon later in the month.
Till then, Em xx
