Embrace the Journey-created for ScrappingClearly

Welcome to the first Friday of August.
Only one more month of Winter....Yay!! Don't get me wrong I love winter, but I'm hanging for some warmer days to just thaw off.
Today I'm sharing a layout that is inspired by the new moodboard for August.
It's gorgeous, with it's muted soft palette. Here is how I interpreted it.

The corals and apricots add a real romantic vibe.
I also saw the hexagon background in the board and thought I would do a subtle ode to that in my background.

I also wanted to capture that real apricot colour so I used a thick paint and spread it through a TCW stencil - distressed lace this one and put it over the layers as well as the background t get that contrast.

Within my background work I also used a variety of stamps including this adorable Lavinia stamp that was inked with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide.

My paper layers were tags cut out of a few different sheets of paper from the Golden Days Fancy Pants 6x6 pad. They matched perfectly with the colour tones of the board.

And like all my pages, I need quotes, so I again turned to Tim Holtz Small talk stickers.
These always seem to be spot on with the mood I want to create.

And that's me done!
I'll catch you all again a little later on in the month.
Happy scrapping friends.

Journey - Created for 2Crafty chipboard

Hi Friends,
Emma here with you all today on the blog, and today's layout is Steam punk inspired.

Here are the awesome Chipboard pieces I used....

Clock Face Discs
Fancy Clock Hands Set 2
Element Set 1
Mini Travel Words Set1

I really wanted the chipboard to illuminate off the page so I went with a simple technique.

I painted all my chipboard with black Gesso first.

Then I started to apply Prima Wax's to them.
Using a variety of the colours in the Metallique range which gave the chipboard that aged effect.

Plus plenty of shine and shimmer.

I really love the feel of this page, it really feels like me and how I feel I truly scrap.

I hope this page can give a little inspiration, thanks for joining me here on the blog today.

Suround yourself with Tacos - created for ScrappingClearly

Hi there friends,
Can you believe it's the end of yet another month???
Crazy!
Today I'm sharing a page showcasing some fun colours and awesome products.

I wanted to play with some brighter colours because just lately I feel I have been using more muted colours.

I think I managed to capture brighter colours......

I decided to use minimal mixed media on the background (well less paint anyway). Instead I stamped heavily with various stamps including the Fly away with me Stamp by Studio Light . I used Jane Davenport Squid Ink in pink for the colour. I added strips of  Art by Marlene Washi tape to really bring out the colour. Then I applied a little modeling paste through a stencil to add a small amount of dimension.

The wings are part of that same "fly away with me" stamp that I stamped separately and then cut them out ready to use later.

The 2Crafty chipboard is painted with mostly Distress Oxides including Fossilized AmberPeacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. I also used a Liquitex Paint Marker in Light Violet. these markers are so cool!! In my layers behind my image are some ephemera from the Heidi Swapp Journal Studio collection and a couple of torn sheets from Heidi Swapp Wanderlust  paper pad.

And for some title sentences I used the Small Talk stickers.

Thanks for joining me today.
I hope this page brings a little inspiration to your day.
I'll catch you again soon.

Be authentic created for Scrapping Clearly

Happy Friday everyone!

Emma here with you all today sharing my take on this months glorious mood board.

And lets refresh our visuals with the mood board......

 It's another stunner isn't it!
I have had this image in my stash for a little while and I knew straight away it suited this board instantly.

I really wanted to be bold with my stencil for this page but still soft to suit the board.
So using a Dina Wakley scribbly faces stencil with Nuvo Mousse in French Rose this came to life.

Then I added a little colour under where the layers were going to be placed, this was created with a few colours but mostly Distress Oxides in Iced Spruce and Tattered Rose. The Jane Davenport build a bouquet stamp around the faces is a DO in Frayed Burlap. I kinda wanted it to look like they had flowers in their hair???

The tags are a mix of items some from my stash but also a few from Heidi Swapp Journal studio die-cut shapes. I have also cut randomly a bit of the Heidi Swapp 6x6 diecut papers and tucked them into the layers, adding just a little (hopefully) elegance.

The stamp in the background is Carabelle stamp 'peace in the world'. I only inked the sections of the stamp I felt I wanted to show.

And like most of my layouts I added a few quotes and I used Tim Holtz small talk stickers to finish it all off.

Thanks for your time today and I hope you all have an awesome weekend!!

I'll see you all soon, Em xx
