us - ScrappingClearly

Well Hello there ScrappingClearly friends.
Today as promised I'm sharing another layout inspired by this months Moodboard.
I just can't get enough of it!
Have you had a play with it yet?

This is what I have come up with this time...…

And as a refresher here is the Moodboard.....

This page I actually used a Photo of me or US!! Woohoo amazing I know!

I really wanted this page to feel slightly romantic, choosing Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo as my base colour, this meant the navy and turquoise tones could really pop.
The stamped image has been stamped with Distress Oxide Faded Jeans, and then I watered the ink down and flicked it around the page.
I also watered down Dina Wakley Turquoise paint to do the same flicking.
with the Turqouise Paint I also painted a couple of my chippy pieces with it, and the other in the Vintage Photo.

The real pieces I wanted showcased is the awesome Metals on this page. I used Prima Mechanical tin hearts, and embellishment flowers. A few of these I also rubbed prima wax over them to give a nice sheen.
And I also used Some Tim Holtz metal adornments in amongst my clusters.

The cards behind the Photo are a few of the Heidi swapp Colour Magic Notes, that I have inked with the Distress Oxides to compliment the colour tones.

And I have also tucked in a few Tim holtz Rubons in amongst my stamped background, to add yet another point of interest.

So that's it for my share today. I hope it inspires you to go try this months moodboard, there are still a few days left to play.

I'll catch you all soon,
Till then, Em xx

Escape - Em's first August Share

Hi 2Crafty friends,
Emma here today to share my first creation for the month of August.
I used 4 different pieces of chipboard for this creation.

And here is how I used them......

I had fun getting a little messy with this one. Letting the ink drip down my page and seeing the different shades of colour come through the distress oxide.

My chipboard elements were simply 'inked' with distress oxides and then sprayed with a resist spray to get a different finish on them.

The 'escape' title piece I left just inked with no other finish on it.

Same with the Tiny frame, I left it inked only. I love these frames, I chose to cut this one in half to use in 2 places rather then use them as a frame in full.

If you look closely you can see the dots the resist spray creates on the chippy. I love the slight grunge feel it gives, plus a slight sheen too.

I hope the colours and chippy inspires you to create and I will see you later in the month with another share showcasing the epic 2crafty chippy.
Em xx

The Best - Layout for ScrappingClearly

Welcome to Thursday everyone!
Emma here with you all.
Today i'm sharing a layout that features this picture I found on pinterest of the ever cool YODA.

This layout features the awesome Elle & Viv paper as my base sheet.
then I coated it in a Transperant Gesso, allowed to dry and then using the Twisted Citron colour in the distress Oxides, smooshed it in the area I was hoping to apply my elements.
It was not quite bright enough once I watered it down and made the drips, so using the same technique, I applied fresh lime acrylic paint from Dylusions.

For the words on my photo, to sort of sound like Yoda, I cut up a couple of the Snarky quotes from Tim Holtz small talk Stickers, then repositioned them to make its own sentence.

The very cool embellishments used on this page are mostly from the Pink Fresh Fabric die cuts, and pennants.

The awesome metal Embellishments are a combination of 2 packs. The star is from the Mechanicals Barn stars range and the cogs from the Steam punk gears pack. How epic are they!!!!!

A bit of twine, some liquitex carbon black ink flicked around and this page is finished!
I hope it inspires you to get a little Scrappy.

I'll be back later this month to share a page that was inspired by this months moodboard.
Until then, Em xx

Adventure Rebel- with Emma

Hi everyone,
Emma here today on the 2Crafty blog.
Today’s layout was inspired by this Pop Art image I found on Pinterest of Carrie Fisher mixed with a little  David Bowie.

I chose the Red background to match the stripe on Carrie's face.
Then to get the space vibe I chose the square collage panel and cut it up to sit behind my image, I inked this with a Distress Oxide ink and then with my finger applied a Prima wax over the top.

To mimic the pattern on her face I used part of the squiggle border which I painted with  Dina Wakley paint and again went over it with the Wax. I think this is my new fave product. Plus it smells so good 😉

The ‘adventure’ word I inked with black archival ink and left it as it was.

Here are the products I used......

I really had fun with this layout, taking my time, creating layers and just enjoying the process.

I look forward to seeing you all next month.
Until then, Em xx

Me - layput designed for Scrapping Clearly

Happy weekend SC peeps,
Today I'm sharing a page that is again inspired by this months moodboard.
I chose to use flowers, the painted stripe background and some of the colours.

To start this layout I chose a sheet of Heidi Swapp pineapple crush paper in good vibes.
And then using some light paste stuck down ripped pieces of Postale Tissue wrap by Tim Holtz.

Now to get my colour, using 5 different paints (these included Dylusions Rose Quartz and Mushy Peas, Art Anthology Dimensional Paint in Baby Blue Eyes, and Art alchemy Opal magic and Sparks Unicorn Hair) I dotted along the area I wanted colour and then spread them across the tissue paper with an old credit card.

I wasn't going to stamp but I really didn't like how square it felt so I just stamped lightly with 2 stamps.

It also added a little interest to the page.
Now because I had decided on flowers, most of mine are white, so I sprayed them with a few matching sprays (an old Heidi swapp colour shine, A Kaiser Mist, and a Dylusions ink Spray in Vanilla custard for a bit of yellowy contrast).

And then proceeded to do the same with the chipboard, using the same paints as on the base paper.

Now to start creating the layout.
Firstly I foamed up the photo, so that I could put flowers and fabric up under.
Then I placed my flowers...

I also cut and tucked in the chipboard in amongst the flowers.
The whole time I was creating this page I knew I was going to use a few of the Tim holtz small talk stickers I have, I have the Snarky ones cos I kinda think sarcasm is funny.
So I added some of these around my page, plus for my title 'me' I used some Heidi Swapp glitter letter stickers.

I also tucked in a flair from Heidi Swapp, a page sometimes is not complete without one.
Then to finish it all off, I got some Gesso and watered it down and painted over some of the brighter flowers and over the stickers, to blend it all together, and then I watered it down a little more and flicked it over everything.

That's it! Page complete!

There is still a week left of this month, so still plenty of time to play with our moodboard. I would love to see what you create and to see what inspired you from the board.

Have a fabulous weekend and I'll catch you all next month.

Happy scrapping, Em xx

Admit Weirdness with Em

Happy Wednesday Scrapping Clearly friends.
Firstly I want to say a huge WOW to the amazing scrapbooking that
I am seeing come in from the Cyber Crop.
I love a crop and this layout im sharing today was inspired by Kylies moodboard.

Here is the awesome moodboard....

so cool hey?
For this layout I decided to really play the blues and try a few different ideas.
I made a video for this so you can see more how it came together in more detail.
I prepped my base paper with Clear gesso so the inks would run nicely.

I then started using 3 Distress Oxide inks, I chose Broken chinaSalty Ocean and Blueprint sketch to layer and drip down my page.

Then I stamped, this time I thought I would use one of the Interesting Faces from Dina Wakleys cling stamps.
I stamped the same image across the page. Then used another stamp to add crackle and script texture.

I played with another medium I had never played with before and that was
an antique wax by Finnabair.
This medium works amazing on metals, I also rubbed some over the flowers to make them look slightly distressed and old.

Once all my embellishments were glued down I proceeded to add Glass pebble rocks
in Jen Aqua. These are so super cool to play with.

Finally I added some flicks of Liquitex titanium white ink over my page and then 2 quotes from Tim Holtz Small Talk range, but these particular 2 from the snarky Stickers, and I rubbed over them with my finger a bit of the Distress Oxide in Hickory smoke to finish them off and bland into the page a little.

I hope you continue to be inspired by the Cyber crop, you have until this Sunday to complete them.
Some super cool prizes to be won as well as our monthly moodboard challenge running as well.

I hope you enjoy my little video as well.

I will catch you all very soon,
Em xx
