Sweet Specimen - created for ScrappingClearly

 Hello everyone!

Today I want to share my take on the fab February mood board!
This months board is so awesome, I'm sure I will say that every month but it's true.

Here is what I created....

Check out the mood board.....

I really wanted to create a background with the fantastic 49 & Market Rub-ons. I have used a collection of the ones found in the Everyday Essential collection.

So I made a background a bit like when I stamp a background. Can I just tell you if you haven't played with these yet, I think you will just have to! They are one of the best Rubs I have ever used!
Next I layered a stencil over the top with a white texture paste. I chose a stencil out of the Tim Holtz Mini Stencil set 30.

Then came the pop of colour. I only wanted to use it sparingly as I wanted the rub-ons to be a major feature. So I added Distress oxide in Frayed Burlap with a water colour brush to highlight parts of  stencil.

And then came the layers. I used some torn book paper, corrugated card and some Tim Holtz Idea-ology ephemera these ones were from the field notes collection.

And then i added chipboard, flowers, a resin and more including some more rubs from Tim Holtz.

I love how this page came to be and I love that I didn't even need to use one stamp!

I hope this page has inspired you to create with this months mood board.
I cannot wait to see what you all make.

See you again soon, Emma

To Dreamland designed for 2Crafty Chipboard

 Hello friends!

Emma here with you today with another share.
Todays project is a keepsake made for my scrap room wall using wooden planks.

Here are the awesome chipboard items used:

Assorted Chain Borders
4" Mandala 2
Steampunk Cog Strips

These rectangles only measure 13x15cms. So I knew it was going to be tricky to fit everything on them that I wanted. But somehow I managed to achieve the look I hoped for.

The chipboard I painted in black Gesso ready for a finish.

I chose to cover them with waxes as this looks really great over black Gesso. I used a combination of colours to add light and dark shade.

Because of the size of the projects, I had to trim each piece to either share on both or to fit and suit the size, without taking away the awesomeness of the chippy.

I'm really happy with the finished result and can't wait to hang them.

Please enjoy the video of this project all coming together.....

Happy scrapping everyone and will see you all again soon.

Em xx

1Stamp 4Colours Art Journal designed for ScrappingClearl

 Hello!

Emma with you all today to share a very quick and colourful Art Journal page.

I took one of the sheets out of my Art by Marlene journal and prepped it with some clear Gesso. For the colour on the page, I added a little water to create a watercolour effect. Choosing to use some IZINK dye sprays to now add colour. The first colour I used was sea spray, second was Sunflower which also helped create a little green colour and lastly Antique Pearl to create a shimmer.

Just a couple of loose circles was the start to the composition. You can see it all come to life in the video linked at the bottom of this post.

Next came the stamp. Using the AALL & CREATE #323 Navigate Home set, I went for the toucan & wheel stamp. The great thing about these stamps is they have numbers and words, so you can use them in all sorts of ways. To add one more colour to the mix, my 4th colour was made with an orange stamp pad that I had in my stash. This just tied it all together. And made sure it only grabbed 'pops' of the stamp including the numbers. I did the same with some yellow.

Then with the same stamp I stamped it on a sheet of white cardstock. Coloured it in with some markers and fussy cut it out. This becomes the dimensional layer on the page. Using a fine tipped pen I loosely scribbled around the circles and the border.

Finally a couple of Tim Holtz stickers and a little more flicking of the sea spray dye and this little project was now all complete.

Enjoy the process Video..

I hope you get some crafting time this lovely Sunday and I will see you all again soon.

Love this Life by Emma Zappone for ScrappingClearly.

Hello!!!

Emma here with you today, and I must say how awesome it feels to be back designing for
Scrapping Clearly again!!
How totally awesome is the January mood board
Because of it's awesomeness my design share today is inspired by it.

Here is the layout created......

Here is the mood board to refresh the inspiration......

The minute I laid eyes on it I thought I would bring more of the orange and soft pinks out of it. And so this is how this page developed.

The base sheet of paper already had a lot of colour on it but wanting to adjust it a little more towards the theme I added Rose Quartz & white linen Dylusions paints with a brush to make it look the same but bring it to match the colours more.

The chipboard is painted with Seth Apter inks in cotton candy & burnt orange, painting and creating a 2 toned effect.

The stamping in the background I must admit I had to dig around to find a good match, I found an old Finnabair stamp and matching in with the newspaper book paper used a Darkroom Door stamp.

For the embellishments I kept it very simple, and opted to fussy cut some Scrap FX scrappy bits, the ones best suited to the colours. Subtle but effective.

This was a nice quick layout with plenty of colour impact.

I can not wait to see what you all create with this mood board.
And I do hope this has inspired you to get creating.

Till next time, Happy Scrapping, Emma :)

Life is the Journey canvas & Video tutorial for 2Crafty Chipboard

  Hello :)

Emma joining you today for the last day of 2020!!!
So to go out with a bang I created a Steampunk Canvas to share and hopefully inspire with you all.
At the end of this post is a video for you to enjoy in your free time.

And here are the pieces used:

Clock face discs
Fancy clock Hand set 2
Fancy Set 2 borders
Steampunk Strips

The chipboard doesn't need much to make it look great so I kept the finish on all the chipboard pieces simple. Starting by painting them in Black Gesso.

Then started to apply layers of wax to create colour over the black.

Most of the chipboard includes 2 to 3 Colours on them to create the gradient in colour.

Pops of colour from the flowers and paper elements also help the chipboard stand out from the canvas.

Sometimes keeping things simple makes for a great impact.

I hope you enjoy the video process of this canvas coming together.

Thank you for visiting today and hope you have a great start to 2021.

See you all soon.
Emma.

Adventure awaits You Tag - Created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello, and welcome to the last day of August!

Emma with you all today, and I am sharing a Tag I created with a Medieval vibe.

I used plenty of awesome chipboard.
Here is what i used:

Steampunk Strips
Decorative Dangling Bits
Filigree Arrows
Hinges

I decided to use 3 finishes on my chipboard with this project.
I started off by painting all the pieces in Gold paint.

Then on the steampunk strips I added a very light covering of gold emboss powder.

The hinges I wanted something a little more of a stand out, so I added gold emboss powder, then a silver emboss powder.

I decided I like this effect so I applied the same finishes on the arrows.

Finally I rubbed a light brushing of copper wax to all of the chipboard pieces, but not too heavily as I didn't want to take away from the shine of the emboss.

I am super happy with the final result of the beautiful chipboard but also the overall look of my tag.
I hope it has been a little bit of inspiration for you.

I will see you all again very soon.
Em xx

Take me with You created for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello, Emma here, thank you for joining me today for an end of month share.
Today's  share is a layout that for me feels pretty, and that i really enjoyed creating.

Here are the awesome chipboard pieces i used:

Fancy Set 2 Borders
Clock Face Discs
Fancy Clock Hand Set 2
Amelia Frames
Foliage set 7

If you follow me you know that i like to keep my finishes of the chipboard fairly simple. And so, this page is no different.

With this layout i decided to paint all my chipboard with Black Gesso first.

Then i chose a selection of Prima waxes for colour and to compliment the papers.

I think my favorite piece of chipboard has to be the Clock faces. I used 2 on this layout, but cut the bigger one to make it look like 3.

The hits of metallic wax really sets the chipboard apart from the other elements on the page.

I have created a video for this layout that you can all enjoy here

Thank you for joining me and i look forward to sharing with you all again soon.
